Straight answers on the trial, daily use, HACCP records, exceptions, inspections and multi-site rollout.

Trial and pricing

Getting started

Is the trial really free?

Yes. TapTick includes a 30-day free trial and no credit card is required to begin.

When does the trial start?

The trial starts when the site records its first real operational check or checklist. You can configure the site before starting the 30-day clock.

What does TapTick cost after the trial?

The standard self-serve price is €25 per active site/month, excluding VAT. Multi-site and enterprise pricing is agreed according to scope and volume.

What happens if I do not continue?

You will not be charged automatically without activating billing. Before leaving, export any records your business needs to retain.

Staff and daily use

Using TapTick on the floor

Does TapTick work on phones and tablets?

Yes. TapTick is a mobile-first web app that works on modern phones, tablets and desktop browsers. It can be added to the home screen like an app.

Can several staff use one store tablet?

Yes. Sites can use staff initials to identify who completed a record while a shared store device remains logged in for operational use.

How quickly can a site get started?

A straightforward site can be configured in minutes. Add the operating hours, assets, checklists and staff details, then begin live checks when the site is ready.

Can a deli close early without creating false missed checks?

Yes. Managers can use End Service for Today to stop the remaining scheduled work for a counter or service that has legitimately closed early.

HACCP and records

Replacing paper and staying inspection-ready

Can TapTick replace paper HACCP records?

TapTick is designed to replace routine paper HACCP and operational records with time-stamped digital checks, checklists, actions and evidence. Your business remains responsible for deciding which controls its food-safety system requires.

Does TapTick create a HACCP plan?

TapTick provides a living site HACCP plan that reflects the processes, assets, limits and monitoring configured for the operation. It should be reviewed and approved by the responsible food-business operator.

What can I show an EHO?

You can generate evidence covering operational checks, checklists, missed records, corrective actions, photos, quarantine, weekly verification, product withdrawals and other site events for the selected period.

Can I export records?

Yes. TapTick provides PDF and CSV evidence outputs in the relevant reporting areas.

Problems and follow-up

When something goes wrong

What happens after a failed temperature?

TapTick records the result and guides the relevant response. Depending on the control, this can include corrective action, quarantine, a timed recheck and a documented final outcome.

Can staff report a food-safety incident?

Yes. Staff can submit a food-safety incident with details and evidence. It is then escalated for manager review and closure.

Can I record a product withdrawal or disposal?

Yes. TapTick has structured records for product withdrawals and product disposal, including product details, reason, quantity, outcome and supporting photos where needed.

Does TapTick track expiring products?

Expiry Watch highlights items that are due today or overdue and connects unresolved follow-up to the Action Centre.

Sites and rollout

Managing one location or many

Is TapTick suitable for a single site?

Yes. The standard plan is designed so one food business can begin quickly without an enterprise implementation project.

Can owners see multiple sites?

Yes. Multi-site users can use Portfolio and Food Safety Score views to compare locations and identify where attention is required.

Can a group standardise site setup?

Enterprise controls support organisation structures, templates, standards and controlled access so sites can follow a consistent operating model.

Does TapTick require temperature sensors?

No. TapTick works with staff-entered records and does not require specialist hardware. It can also sit alongside an existing sensor system where manual verification and broader operational records are still needed.
